Stumbling in the dark on the path less traveled
Will I be okay?

Silent Sunrise.
Brilliant twilight glow.
Endless starry sky.
People turn their gaze to the universe
Seeking to express thoughts and emotions (in rare moments)
Yet, in most time, forget their existence.
But all things are ever-living.
For life is already shaped by its creator, before time.
So, if we are constantly looking around us in every moment of life.
Each day becomes a journey through the cosmos.

I think I was trying to capture the loss of sense of self that I experience when I am lonely. I also experience a loss of connection to reality, it feels like a searching for place and belonging again. And not being able to recognise that there is support or options there. Just feeling disconnected from reality and feeling small, and searching.

The first image is a depiction of loneliness, isolation. One stuck with their own negative thoughts, accumulating. colourful displays collaboration, connection, positive emotions, how varying ideas, thoughts, opinions and aspirations can intertwine and flourish from each other.

The second image is a representation of my younger self in residential care facilities with reinforced brick walls, ‘counting walls’. sitting alone, counting the individual bricks on the wall, a coping mechanism

The world symbolises being apart from my family who lives overseas. The houses represent how, in our culture, loneliness is manufactured, there’s a lack of community.
There’s also nowhere to go where you don’t need to spend money, its hard to form community.
The collage also reflects not having connections to rely on. I live in share houses, where finding strangers to live with is a necessity. I also included my cat in there too.
